Summer Collection At Sarang

Sarang - The Saree Boutique has come out with a fresh summer collection of saris, which will be on display from 14th to 30th April. The collection includes chiffons, georgettes, crepes, spun jutes, kotas and cotton Banarasis. The prices range from Rs. 400 to Rs. 50,000. The saris are produced right here in the city by an inhouse production team, which gets its raw material from various parts of the country, and even abroad. While there are several designs, the saris can also be customized according to the buyers' needs.

Rekha Lahoti, a fashion designer from Hyderabad, has carved a niche for herself in the fashion industry. A degree in fine arts from Kolkata, and a natural flair for art, are the ingredients helping her put together her explosive yet subtle designs for saris. More than a decade has gone into this art, and it has enabled her to put her own stamp of styling onto both ethnic and contemporary wear.

Lahoti's worked on a wide range of collections, the most innovative being her creations on Kanchi silk. She pioneers in blending weaving and embroidery on Kanchi saris, which has been widely appreciated. She designed for the Mrs India contestants contesting for the Mrs World 2003 pageant at Los Angeles, and has also participated in various fashion events nationally - DSYN 2004, Femina Bridal, Femina Clothes and the NIFT Show, to name a few. She's successfully been running Sarang, her signature store, at Banjara Hills.
