Marco Polo, the fully furnished bar at ITC Hotel The Kakatiya, is organising the Daiquiri festival from 1st April. Manager of the bar Keenan McKenzie will ensure that the guests get to experience a new kind of pleasure in having internationally acclaimed spirits mixed with various other alcohols and fruit juices and essences.
The menu will have many of the irresistable cocktails, such as the famed La Floridita, Chambord, Hemingway, Avocado, Galliano and Blue Berry, and the regulars such as Strawberry, Pineapple, Pink, Passion, Peach, Orange, Mint, Mandarin, Orange, Melon Lime, Derby and French Daiquiris.
Daiquiri is a family of cocktails whose main ingredients are rum and lime juice. There are several versions, but those that have gained international fame are the ones made in the El Floridita bar in Havana, Cuba. A wide variety of alcoholic mixed drinks made with finely pulverized ice are often called a "frozen daiquiri". These drinks can also be combined and poured into a "margarita machine" or a "daiquiri machine", eliminating the need for manual pulverization.
Although to purists most of these are not true daiquiris at all, use of this term to describe these drinks is common, especially around the US Gulf Coast. Such drinks are often commercially made in machines which produce a texture similar to a smoothie, and come in a wide variety of flavors made with various alcohol or liquors.
So enjoy your daiquiris and beat this summer in an international style. This festival is on for whole of April. Please contact the venue at 2340-0132 for further details.
