Seems almost unbelievable, doesn't it? Yes, there's golf coming to the hoi polloi in town finally, and hopefully in a decade there will be a Sania Mirza in another sport. And if you stop being skeptical, it could be your own kid.

The Hyderabad Golf Association, a not-for-profit body, was formed in 1992 with the objective of building a golf course to international standards that would stay accessible to civilian residents of the twin cities and their surroundings. It would also be an important addition to the social infrastructure of the city, which was becoming a major tourist, business and industrial destination. The course was also to be the crucible for training budding young golfers who would be the champions of the future.
