This weekend, f bar has an imported performer at the mixers - DJ Chico will present The Dance Rhythm of House & the Climbing Beat of Progressive. If you understand what that means, that's half the reason that you should be here. The other half, of course, has to do with your financial stability.
The winner of the War of the DJs 2000/2001, Chico has been passionate about music since childhood. It was during his studies in the United Kingdom that he discovered his love for disc jockeying, and decided to make a career of it. And a successful career it has been - in a professional career spanning 14 years, DJ Chico has worked with many top musicians, performers and companies in the industry.
He has had the privilege of opening for Bob Sinclair at the Thanks God I'm A VIP party for top Paris designers, he performed at the Smirnoff International Fashion Awards 2001, and in May 2005, he launched two new radio stations on behalf of World Space and Multi Choice, in one of Johannesburg's most happening and elite discotheques, Taboo.
DJ Chico's work also includes playing at gigs at various pubs in Bangalore such as Blue Ginger, Sparks, Oblivion, Urban Edge, 180 Proof, I Bar, Mars 2211, Dublin Pub, Club X, Hipnos, Insomnia, The Club and Opium. He played for a year at Swigs (the former Earthquake) in Mumbai as their inhouse disc jockey in 1999. He currently manages the music and DJ profile at The Zen, a contemporary Japanese Restaurant, Leela Palace Hotel, Bangalore.
He has opened and closed for several international and national performers and artists such as DJ Judge Jules (London), DJ Eddie Lock (London), DJ Ray Davis (London), Mike Whitney (AXN Who Dares wins), Viva, Shaan, KK, Remo Fernandes, Louis Banks, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shivamani, Infra Red, Mansi Scott, Sunita Sarthi and Priscilla Corner amongst many others.
