We have The Oscars, the Filmfare awards, the screen awards, the telly awards, the n number of bollywood awards etc etc which after a point lose their importance but provide fodder for conversations and gossip. But who's complaining? Bring on the awards!
This time around it's awards which toast excellence in various cultural fields ranging from research, poetry and theatre to journalism. The Pratibha Awards for Culture are being held at the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University auditorium and are being given out to 11 prominent persons from various fields, for the year 2002. The President of the Ramakrishna Math, Swami Paraardheananda is going to be the Chief Guest. The guest of honour is going to be Mr. MS Reddy who is a prominent film producer. The function is open to all.
All awardees are going to be presented with Rs 10,116 and also presented with a shawl. The award function begins at 5:30 pm.
