PREVIEW FOR MINI ART
A technique that was popular during the 16th century, miniature painting died a quiet death when the artists joined British service. Recently (in the past couple of decades), however, a new generation of painters has revived the medium.
Considering it's a painstaking process that involves the use of indigenous colors, handmade paper, self-made brushes and real gold, this art form is practised by only a few people. The exhibition at Shrishti houses miniature paintings collected by art expert Jagdish Mittal.
There are around 61 paintings in all, and the prices for the works range from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 18,000. For further details, please call 2354-0023.
