Virasat 2003, a fortnight-long cultural event by SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion
of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth), will happen in schools and
colleges across the town, in keeping with the center's priniciple of taking Indian
art forms to the next generation.
Celebrated artistes, including Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt and Malavika Sarukkai,
will perform at the program. Perhaps the best feature of these events is how accessible
they make these arts to the students. Getting them interested, after all, is half
the battle won.
