Usually we let our mouths or our actions do the talking. Once in a while, the work of some people and the material they work on, do the talking. One such subject could be us, but let's not go there. Here we are talking about C S N Patnaik. The eminent sculptor who not only gets himself heard through his sculptures but also conveys grace and a powerful sense of emotion.
His book, The Bronze Sculptures, is being released at a glittering ceremony at the Thyagaraja Gana Sabha. It will be followed by a cultural event consisting of a Kuchupudi Dance Recital by Baby TC Bhargavi and a performance of Beradi Songs by Guruswamy. The Chief Guest of the event is going to be Mr. Mohan Kandra - The Chief Secretary to Andhra Pradesh, and Dr Narayan Reddy, the Chairman of the AP Cultural Council, is also going to be attending the show. The event begins at 5:45 pm and is expected to last for about 2 1/2 hours.
The passion that Mr. Patnaik has for rural life forms, which are a main part of his sculptures, can be seen clearly in his art. So here's a good chance to experience the earthly feel and rawness of rural India through the eyes of a sculptor who treats his subjects as his own.
