A Lepakshi Handicrafts & Handlooms exhibition-cum-sale is being held at the President Function Hall, Tarnaka, from 19th to 27th April. Organised by the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, the exhibition houses about 50 stalls by 40 artisans from all over the country.
The display contains various handicrafts, such as soft toys; dolls from Kondapally, Nirmal and Etikoppaka; hand paintings from Cheriyal and Nirmal; puppets and lampshades from West Bengal; terracota from Uttar Pradesh; bidriware and Banjara embroidery from Hyderabad; and crochet laces, cotton durries, leather articles and silver filigree from other parts of the country.
Handloom materials like handwoven saris from Pochampally, Gadwal and Venkatagiri, Kalamkari block prints from Machilipatnam, and wares from Mangalagiri, Narayanpet and Siddipet, are the other attractions of the exhibition.
