Shilparamam is presenting a Carnatic vocal recital by Pallapragada Bharathi, on 23rd September, as part of its weekly program of music. Accompanied by Sarma on the mridangam and Bhaskar on the violin, Bharathi will start the recital with a Pranamavyaham in Gowla ragam, followed by Mamothu Sri Saraswati in Hindola ragam, Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha in Suddha Dhanyasi, Rama Daya Choodava in Dhanyas, Sri Gayathri in Valaji, Ramabhadra Raava in Revathi, Chitti Muddula in Ananda Bhairavi, Krishna Nee Begane Baro in Yamuna Kalyani, and others.
Bharathi is a B-grade artiste of the All-India Radio in devotional songs, and has a diploma in Carnatic music from the Telugu University. She learnt music initially from her aunt Pallapragada Jogulamba in Visakhapatnam, and is currently under Jayamani Narasimham in Hyderabad.
She has performed at various temples and sabhas in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. She has participated and won prizes in music competitions conducted by Ragasudharas and the Hyderabad Tamil Association. She teaches patriotic and light music songs at a school and classical songs at home to children.
