Beduin, a group of six painters from Kolkata, is organising its 13th exhibition of paintings, from 26th September to 30th September, at Chitramayee - State Gallery Of Fine Arts. The group consists of Malay Dutta, Dinonath Saha, Tapan Karmakar, Indrajit Ghosh, Shankar Bhowmick and Dipak Ghosh.
Malay Dutta had his art education in the Indian Society of Oriental Art, Kolkata, and Diploma in Fine Arts from Radha Creative Unit, Kolkata. He has participated in more than 22 exhibitions, including the national exhibitions at the Lalit Kala Academy of Delhi, and at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Rajya Charukala Parishad in Kolkata, and the Camlin Art Foundation.
Dinonath Saha has a diploma in fine arts from the Institute of Radha Creative Unit. He has participated in various group exhibitions at the Academy of Fine Arts, the Lalit Kala Academy, the Birla Academy and the Rajya Charukala Utsav. His current exhibition is about dreams.
Tapan Karmakar has a diploma from the Indian College of Art & Draftsmanship, Kolkata. He has been part of many group exhibitions in Kolkata, New Delhi and Deoghar. His works are on the tribal dances and music of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa.
Indrajit Ghosh is exhibiting his paintings on tribal women, smiling happily among the flowers and trees in their habitat. He learnt painting from eminent painters like late Gopal Sanyal, late Nirmal Mukherjee and Goutam Basu. He had two solo exhibitions in New Delhi and Mumbai, in addition to group exhibitions at the Lokayata Art Gallery, New Delhi; and the Academy of Fine Arts and the Chemould Art Gallery, Kolkata.
Shankar Bhowmick's landscape paintings are attractive and eye-catching. He has diplomas in fine arts from the Institute of Radha Creative Unit and the Indian Society of Oriental Art, Kolkata. He has participated in 25 group exhibitions that include those by the Lalit Kala Academy of Delhi, the Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshanshala, the Birla Academy, the Academy of Fine Arts and the Rajya Charukala Parishad in Kolkata.
Dipak Ghosh holds diplomas in fine arts from the Institute of Radha Creative Unit and the Indian Society of Oriental Art, Kolkata. He has participated in 20 group exhibitions that include those at the Lalit Kala Academy and the Lokayata Art Gallery of Delhi, and at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Rajya Charukala Parishad in Kolkata. His works are based on women - women in pooja, two railway blind beggars in a Kolkata local train, and Maa Durga.
