Deccan Pavilion, the Hyderabadi speciality restaurant of Hotel ITC Kakatiya Sheraton & Towers, is presenting a food festival of Mexican specialities called Mercado, from 14th to 23rd September. Mercado is a Spanish/Portuguese word for a market place or bazaar, and this festival contains a plethora of spicy dishes from the land of Tequila, chilies and chocolate. The menu contains the following:

Freshly made with avocado, lettuce tomatoes & vinaigrette
Shrimp in a slightly spicy lime-tomato cocktail sauce with cilantro, pico de gallo and diced avocado

Spicy Tortilla Soup
Tomato and crisp tortilla soup spiked with fresh chilies.
Large pork chops marinated in BBQ salsa smoked on charcoal served with roast potatoes
Famous charcoal grilled breast of chicken marinated in spicy and tangy mix served with fried onions & rosemary salsa
A flour tortilla with beans & your choice of filling - prawn/cheese/veg, served with onions, cheese, tomatoes and ranch salsa
Corn tortillas rolled and filled with beans & your choice of filling - tenderloin/veg, oven-baked & covered with a mild salsa, sour cream & melted cheese
Chocolate Double Fudge
Served with whipped cream
Warm cakes served with ice cream and vanilla sauce
Brandy & whipped cream
Tequila, orange juice and grenadine syrup
Light rum with cream of coconut, pineapple juice and crushed ice
A tequila based cocktail with salt on the rim
Mexican cuisine is known for its intense and varied flavors, colorful decoration and variety of spices. Mexican culture and food is one of the richest in the world, both with respect to diverse and appealing tastes and textures; and in terms of proteins, vitamins and minerals.
