On the occasion of the auspicious Telugu New Year, Shilparamam is presenting a Kuchipudi dance ballet themed on Ugadi, on 7th April. Malladi Rajini, along with her disciples - M Patali, M Pallavi, A Keertana, D Tejaswi, Sahitya and Jhansi - will perform the dance. The socio-cultural ballet has been written and choreographed by Malladi Rajini, and comes with nattuvangam by Renuka Prasad, vocals by Ravali, violin by Anil Kumar and mridangam by Om Prakash.
This ballet starts with the dancers performing an invitation dance to Ugadi explaining the importance of the festival, and moves on to Vasantha Ruthuvu or the spring season, and how the sequence of events in the Ramayana happened, including Seeta Kalyanam, Mareecha Vadha, Ravana Samharam and Pattabhishekam. It ends with a message that Vasantha Ruthuvu is about lush greenery, and destroying it means doomsday for mankind.
