Sri Sitarama Naama Sankeertana Sangham is organising 9-day Sri Rama Navami celebrations from 7th to 16th April, at the Balaji Temple, Temple Alwal. The sangham has been organising these for the past 56 years, and there are cultural programs for all the 9 days this year, too, as under:
7th April
Vocal recital by Shashi Valluri, followed by Harikatha on Parvathi Kalyanam by Sri Lakshmi Narayana.
8th April
Vocal recital by disciples of Raghunath and party.
9th April
Vocal recital by Shashidhar Sharma, followed by Harikatha on Rudraksha Mahima by Bharati.
10th April
Carnatic vocal recital by Mantha Srinivas and his disciples, followed by Harikatha on Sundarakanda by Brahmananda Reddy.
11th April
Bharatanatyam by diciples of Manjula Ramaswamy, followed by Harikatha on Sasirekha Parinayam by Ammani.
12th April
Speech by Satyasai on Sundara Kanda, followed by Harikatha on Sita Kalyanam by Ramaanjaneyulu.
13th April
Bharatanatyam by disciples of Natya Brahma V S Ramamurthy and Manjula Ramaswamy.
14th April
Bhakti Sangeetam by Subramaniam and party, followed by Burrakatha.
16th April
Teertha prasadam followed by udvasana.
Sri Sitarama Naama Sankeertana Sangham was established in 1952, and from then on it has organised many social and spiritual activities and many prestigious events. Popular artists like Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna, Ghantasala, S P Balasubramaniam and many other legends performed here.
