REVIEW FOR HYDERABAD CONSUMER FAIR 2008
The Ex-Servicemen Association of Hyderabad is organising the Hyderabad Consumer Fair, from 28th March to 23rd April, at Necklace Road. A shopping bonanza, this fair has more than 200 stalls, exhibiting everything from handicrafts to handlooms and consumer products.
The fair will feature exhibits from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur and Assam, including various handicrafts and handlooms, and other stuff from local traders, as below:
Terracota from Uttar Pradesh
Artistic Metalware from Moradabad
Exquisite carvings in wood
Banjara hand embroidery & crochet lace
Hyderabad pearls & jewelry
Toys & Dolls from Kondapally and Ettikoppaka
Leather utility goods
Mirror work saris and dress material
Chikan work dress material and readymades
Exclusive khadi materials
Handlooms from Pochampally & Siddipet
Mangalagiri and exclusive dress material
Textiles and exclusive tie & dye bedsheets
Printed cotton & other range of textiles from Andhra Pradesh and other states
For the hunger pangs, there are some stalls with hot mirchi bhajjis, samosas, chaat, pani puri, dosas, vadas and Chinese food. A couple of ice-cream stalls will give you the much deserved relief from the hot summer. The center of the venue has been earmarked for entertainment, containing two giant wheels, roller coasters, mini train rides and pendulum dragons.
The entry for the exhibition is by tickets of Rs. 10 per head, while the charges for entertainment are extra. Please contact 2345-0305 for further details.
