REVIEW FOR UDYAMA '08 - MANAGEMENT...

The School Of Management Studies of the Sreenidhi Institute Of Science And Technology is organising its annual management festival, Udyama '08, on 3rd & 4th April, at the college's campus in Ghatkesar. A national-level festival, this one expects to see 300 colleges from all over the country participating.

Udyama in Sanskrit means strenuous effort or readiness in life without hesitation. True to its name, this event aims to showcase the students' capabilities through various activities and competitions which are specifically designed keeping in view the various opportunities and threats posed by the current corporate business environment.

It provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring managers to exhibit their wisdom and their inherent talents for ruling the corporate world. The various events that are part of the fest are:

Paper Presentation
There are four topics for presentation, covering marketing, IT, HR and economics, as below:

Poster Presentation
This is an on-the-spot event. There are two rounds: round one consists of management images/pictures/photographs, and round 2 consists of sports images/pictures/photographs.

Mayo's Maya
This activity is all about retaining employees by boosting their morale and creating employee trust, which is the key to success for many businesses.

Money Mantra
As the name suggests, this is about the magic of money. This is an interesting and crazy mock game for understanding the trading of securities. It tests the participant's thinking ability in earning money. There are five rounds in this event.

Market Conquer
This event needs one to sketch a road map to reach his customer, with marketing as a solution to flatter him.

Business Quiz
There are four rounds to this event: 1st Round - CEOs, 2nd Round - General Management Invention and Innovation, 3rd Round - Marketing Punch Lines, and 4th Round - Budget.

Beauty 'N' Brains
Are you a decision-maker or a smart manager? Participants need to prove that they are decision makers with that elegant touch. There are two rounds: 1st Round - Ramp Walk, and 2nd Round - Personal Interview.

Management Guru
Success is what matters at the end of the day. Philosophies have been forming the base for this so-called success. Every philosophy has shot out of an idea. Put your ideas together in a way that makes people call you a management guru. There are three rounds: JAM, Roleplay, and Stress Interview.

E-Matrix
In order to survive in this technical world, one needs to be tech savvy, and it demands the knack of dealing with the changing technological scenario. In this on-the-spot event, there are two rounds. The 1st round has systems + management games and the 2nd round has a debate on Hot Technical Topics.
