Gangotri (a UP Govt Emporium, and a unit of the UP Export Corporation Limited) is organising an exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts and handlooms, from 28th March to 6th April, at the Kowtha Kamakoti Kalyana Mandapam in Padmarao Nagar. There are about 60 stalls exhibiting wide variety of crafts and handlooms.
There are marble artifacts and statues, Etikoppaka toys, crochet lace, Hyderabad pearls, artificial jewelry, metal castings, jute bags, rosewood carvings, Saharanpur wood carvings, Muradabad brass, leatherware and cotton durries, among others. In the handlooms display, there are both saris and dress material apart from other stuff - there are Kalamkari, Mangalagiri and Pochampally saris, woollen and silk fabrics, carpets, Siddipet, Narayanpet and Chirala handloom saris, Kashmiri and Madurai silk, Lucknow chikan work, Kosa tussar, Banaras silk, Chanderi and Maheshwari saris, applique work and bedsheets. In addition, there are also stalls exhibiting and selling educational and children books, eatables, ayurvedic products and aloe vera products.
