Increasing pressures to achieve and produce at a faster rate has meant that stress is today considered a normal part of the typical business routine. Higher levels of stress are being experienced in the workplace, regardless of earning capacity or status. The same is the case on the domestic front. Higher expectations from family, escalating costs and rising demands also add to this. The result is aggressiveness in behaviour and a frustrating life.
The Art of Living Workshop is a user-friendly method for improving the quality of life. It is a practical and effective training program that helps aggresive and frustrated people experience calmness and inner clarity in the midst of challenges. Greater understanding of oneself helps understand others.
It is based on an innovative breathing technique called Sudarshan Kriya. The theory is that the kriya allows a healthy and pleasant mind to produce chemical messengers, which travel from the nervous system to the immune system, resulting in the overall betterment of both body and mind. It includes two simple yoga techniques - pranayama and poornayoga. Pranayama is a technique to govern the breathing process and Poornayoga includes the practise of simple yoga postures.
This workshop is being organised for six days, from 1st April to 6th April, and the timings are 6am to 9am. The registration charges are Rs. 1,000 per head, and the entire sum is sent to the Art Of Living Foundation and goes in a long way in sponsoring charity programs taken up by the foundation. The workshop is being conducted by Dr. Sajitha, a doctor by profession, and has as volunteer Saravana, a software professional.
