Sri Thyagaraja Sangeeta Mahotsavam: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR SRI THYAGARAJA SANGEETA MAHOTSAVAM

Nada Prabha is organizing a Sri Thyagaraja Sangeeta Mahotsavam on 4th May, in Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha, at Chikkadapally. The event will begin at 8am and last till 9pm.

The program will begin with a prayer, and will be followed by classical competitions in veena, violin and vocal. The age limit for the competition is 15 to 25 years, and the participants should perform one Thyagaraja kriti each along with alapana and swara kalpana. After the competitions, there will be serial classical concerts from 5pm to 8pm, which are as below:

1. Vocal concert by J Padma Ravibabu, accompanied by Srinivas on mridangam and O Rajashekar on violin
2. Vocal concert by M V Kamala Ramani, accompanied by Srinivas on mridangam and O Rajashekar on violin
3. Vocal duet by Neeta Chandrasekar and Seshu Latha Viswanath, accompanied by B V S Prasad on mridangam and P Nand Kumar on violin
4. Veena concert by I Shyamsunder and Jaya Lakshmi Shyamsunder, accompanied by B V S Prasad on mridangam

There will then be a sabha, which will include the prize distribution for the winners in the Thyagaraja kritis competition. After the sabha, there will be a vocal concert by D Seshachary and D Raghava Chary, the Hyderabad Brothers. B S Narayana will accompany them on violin, and Burra Sriram on mridangam.
