If you're one of those who passed out of school with a formidable education in
how to avoid PT, chances are this event won't get you too excited. But for the
rest with fond memories of muddy shoes, after-school practise and holding a trophy
aloft with 25 other grubby hands, the Montfort National Games and Sports Meet
will be a time of nostalgia, and perhaps some envy. Because these kids are good.
Ten to sixteen-year-olds will take part in the 27th annual Montfort meet. Events
will include badminton, volleyball, football, basketball, table tennis, and athletic
sports like the 100, 200 and 400 metre run, 100 metre relay, long jump, high jump,
discus and javelin throw.
Students of schools around the city - Little Flowers, St Paul's, All Saints, St
Mark's etc. - are going to be at the event. The meet takes place in the Montfort
Boy's Town playground, Janumah, which is located a little past Charminar.
