We were like monoliths. Then we were admitted in schools. Nothing was added to us. In fact, things were taken away from us. That's how monoliths become good sculptures. And as we proved ourselves time and again, one statement echoed throughout; The Alma Mater does matter.
Jawahar Bharathi College of Kaavali (Nellore District) has completed 50 years of its inception, and the ex-students of this college at Hyderabad have decided to celebrate the golden jubilee. This college has produced numerous intellectuals, of which many are very highly placed. The products of this college are currently in the league of IAS officers, politicians, social workers, engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc.
Around 2000 ex-students of this college are staying in Hyderabad, and have formed a group called the Jawahar Bharathi Association. They all meet at every given opportunity and discuss topics on various issues.
On the 22nd, as part of the golden jubilee celebrations, this association has decided to felicitate 15 IAS officers (ex-students) and 8 ex-Principals who helped in the college's growth and in its attaining fame.
A few of the ex-students will present a drama called "Sri Krishna Rayabaram - Padaka Scene", to entertain the general gathering and the ex-students' families. In the later part of the evening, the President's Award winning Subhakar troupe "Vuyyuru Garika Parru" will present Dappu Nrutyam (dance with a smaller version of the drum), which will be the highlight of the day's program.
