NCWI (National Council of Women in India) is organising a free health camp on 6th April at Banjara Hills. The camp provides free heart, diabetes, blood sugar, eye and cholesterol check-ups, and also offers free ECG and ECO tests. There will also be cataract operations if necessary. The consultants are Padma Kumar, heart specialist, and Uday, general physician.
NCWI is conducting this camp to help the sick, and also to bring about awareness in people about health and educate them in taking proper precautions to avoid health disorders. The timings of the camp are 9am to 1 pm.
NCWI was founded in 1923, and is affiliated to the International Council Of Women. The council is a non-profit organisation, which deals with child welfare, education, health, human rights and women's issues. The aim, objective and mission of the council are to serve the needy, especially women and children. With 17 branches all over India, NCWI serves each state according to its specific needs. Health, education of women and looking after the welfare of destitute women are the priority areas.
