Shilparamam, as part of its weekly program of music, is presenting a Janapada Geetalu (folk songs) program by Krishna Varma on 6th April. He will be accompanied by singers Jayprakash and Sunita, with chorus singing by Rekha, Shiva Nagulu, Narender and Ravi, and dappu (drums) by Sikinder and Anjaneyulu. They are going to present typical folk songs.
The program will start with the song Koona Kommalu, followed by Neevi Aaru Gurralu Navi Aaru Gurralu, Attaru Sayibu Neeti Rumalu, Srisaila Mallana, Kurumaiah Raara and Telangana Naandi.
Krishna Varma is a renown janapada artist who stood first in the national-level competitions in 2007. He is a disciple of Goreti Venkanna, and has been in this field for the past 18 years. He belongs to Mahboobnagar district, and is currently the Vice-President of the cultural section of the TRS party. He has performed many programs all over Andhra Pradesh.
