The Kamma Sangham is organising an exhibition-cum-sale of silk and cotton saris and dress material, at its community hall in Ameerpet, from 12th to 16th April. Weaves, as the exhibition is titled, showcases various silk fabrics from different states:
Gadwal, Dharmavaram, Pochampally, Kothakota, Mangalagiri, Chirala, Kalamkari and raw silk from Andhra Pradesh
Tussar and Kantha from Bihar
Kantha, tribal work and Kosa silk from Chattisgarh
Gharchola, Patola, Pannetor, block & Ajrak printed material from Gujarat
Printed silk saris and embroidered dress material from Jammu and Kashmir
Chintamani, Kasouti work, printed silk saris & dress material from Karnataka
Chanderi and Maheshwari silks from Madhya Pradesh
Paithani and Karwati saris from Maharashtra
Bomkari and Sambalpuri from Orissa
Bandhej, Kota and Dabu prints from Rajasthan
Kanjeevarams and Chettinads from Tamil Nadu
Tanchoi, Jamdani and Jamavar from Uttar Pradesh
Baluchari, Kantha, Tangoli, Tangail, Jamdani & Daccai from West Bengal
Women get to choose from a variety of traditional silk saris and dress material priced to move. With the marriage season approaching, this exhibition promises to be a shopping paradise for Hyderabadi women. There is also a flat 20% discount currently, valid until stocks last.
