Kalahita Art Foundation is presenting Reflecting Shadows, an exhibition of drawings and paintings by Tailor Srinivas, from 13th to 22nd April. The exhibition displays 55 works from 2007 - some in the medium of charcoal and crayon on canvas and paper, and some in acrylic on canvas.
The people in Srinivas' paintings and drawings emanate a feeling of being frozen in action; this lends a sense of remoteness and temporality to the image. Elements from nature such as trees, hutments, birds and foliage that surround both the artist and the people of his study are drawn into the fold of draperies and in the patches of shadows. You find men, women, children, animals and plants all at once, as part of one another in their rustic roles.
T Srinivas was born in 1974, in Tekmal, Medak District. He has done his masters in painting from the S N School, Hyderabad Central University. He has been part of several exhibitions at the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, the Lalit Kala Academy in Delhi, Daira, JNTU, ITC Kakatiya and Chitramayee. He has been conferred upon the Highly Commended Certificate by the Hyderabad Art Society, and a Silver Medal at the All India Art Competition, Hyderabad.
