Ananda Mahati Music Academy is presenting a series of veena concerts on 19th April at Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika, the mini hall of Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha.
The program starts with individual veena concerts by Ananda Rajyalakshmi Chavan, Vani and Sandhya. The three veena artists will perform the following items, that last 45 minutes each:
Chalamela Varnam - Darbar ragam, Adi talam
Chalamela Varnam - Natakuranji ragam, Adi talam
Vinayakuni - Hamsadwani ragam, Adi talam
Endaro Mahanubhavulu - Sree ragam, Adi talam
Amba Vani - Keeravani ragam, Adi talam
Shobhillu - Jagan Mohini ragam, Roopaka talam
Nagumomu - Aberi ragam, Adi talam
The concert will have the standard Alapana, Neravu and Swara Kalpana. The program starts at 6pm, and there is no entry fee for the event.
Ananda Mahati Music Academy was established by Ananda Rajyalakshmi Chavan about 6 years ago, and is dedicated to popularising the veena. Chavan has been a lecturer in music at the Sri Thyagaraja Government College Of Music And Dance, Ramkote, for 20 years now, and is an A-grade artiste of the All-India Radio. She learnt the veena under Vainika Siromani Vasa Krishnamurthy in Vizag. She has performed at several places including Vizag, Vijayawada, Srikakulam, Rajahmundry, Goa, Bangalore, Bijapur, Berhampur, Puri and Jeypore (Orissa), besides at Hyderabad.
