Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad, in association with Akshara Book Stores, is releasing a collection of poems by Usha Akella, on 2nd April, at Goethe-Zentrum's venue in Hermitage complex, Opp Legislative Assembly. A Face That Does Not Bear The Footprints Of The World is a collection of poems by Usha Akella in the Sufi vein, and has been published by the Monsoon Editions, Calicut.
Usha Akella moved to the USA from India in 1993. Since then she has followed her primary passion - poetry. Her work has appeared and is upcoming in many US and Indian based journals such as Borderlands, Cumberland review, The Crab Orchard Review, The Maryland Poetry Review, Pearl, Emily Dickinson Journal, Catamaran, Muse India, Ardent, Di-Verse-City and Kavya Bharathi. She has won the Wine Poem Award at Struga Poetry Evenings 2006, Macedonia, and is the first Indian and woman in 45 years to do so.
