Sri Bharathi, a cultural organization that holds several events regularly, is planning to hold the grand finale (solo singing) for the winners of the 12 successive monthly devotional music competitions held between June 2001 and June 2002.
Apart from this, there will also be competitions in patriotic group songs for both junior (9 to 15 years) and senior (16 to 36 years) categories. Each group should consist of a minimum of four and maximum of six members. The participants should be ready with a minimum of 3 devotional songs (semi-classical / light music, including cine devotional) in Telugu and Hindi, each with a duration of five minutes. No accompaniments will be allowed except the tanpura.
The prizes will be awarded at a function to be held on Vijaya Dasami on October 15. The entry in the competition is free. Those interested can contact 724-6470 on or before October 10 for confirmation of their participation in the singing competition.
