Jointly organized by the Directorate Of Handlooms And Textiles and the State Textiles Department, this expo will see an array of handloom items displayed by the artists from various states. The Union Minister of State for Textiles, Prasanna Gowda Patil, will inaugurate the exhibition.
Besides from Andhra Pradesh, artists from 13 other states - Bihar, Chattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Pondicherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal - will take part. Around 71 stalls will be put up at the venue, with 18 being from Andhra Pradesh.
Some of the special items that will be on display here are saris, kurtas, dupattas, dress material, durries, tablecloths, bedspreads, cushion covers, curtains, bags and other household frills. The exhibition is being organized to provide an opportunity to handloom weavers to showcase their products.
