Shilparamam is holding a 14-day 'Saris Of India' exhibition to coincide with the Dassera festival. Nearly 150 handloom weavers and handicraft artisans from all over India will take part in the exhibition.
Handloom varieties like Chanderi of Madhya Pradesh, Maheshwari and other silk saris of Pune, Kanta of West Bengal, cotton saris of Chhattisgarh, Kalankari of Uttar Pradesh and Dharmavaram of Andhra Pradesh will be on display, along with specialty saris like Pochampalli and Benaras. The State Tourism Minister, Srinivasa Yadav, will inaugurate the exhibition.
During the exhibition an art camp by Andhra artists like N S Sharma (Rajamundry), Mrutyanjaya Rao (Rajamundry), Venkat Rao (Vijayawada), B Venkateshwara Rao (Vijayawada), N Sridhar (Vijayawada) and G Narsing Rao (Vijayawada) showcasing rural art will be on.
