For most people, the number of times they can watch Rukmini getting married is a function of the number of times Geetha is willing to show it.

Kalasagaram, on the occasion of its 39th Annual Cultural Festival Of Music, Dance And Drama from 24th November to 3rd December, is organising a Bharatanatyam recital by Geetha Ganesan today, the 8th day, at Bhagyalakshmi Kalabhavan in the Keyes Girls' High School.

Geetha Ganesan, along with her troupe of disciples, will be presenting a couple of group items and small ballets, followed by a 90-minute ballet, Rukmini Kalyanam.

Ganesan is a disciple of Guru V S Rama Murthy and Guru Manjula Ramaswamy. She is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, who with her innate talent and years of experience, has matured into one of the finest exponents of Bharatanatyam. She has toured countries like USA, UAE, Norway, Spain, Portugal and Sri Lanka, and performed to packed audiences. She is also a very good choreographer, having designed several solo and group ballets.

She had obtained a Master's degree in performing arts from the University of Hyderabad. She has also been acclaimed as a very good vocalist known for her melodious singing, besides being adept at Nattuvamgam. Along with Jayaprada Ramamurthy, a renowned flautist, Ganesan runs an institution called Uttaraa Centre For Performing Arts in Hyderabad, where they impart flute and Bharatanatyam classes to their students.

Kalasagaram is a South-Indian cultural association situated in the East Nehru Nagar of East Marredpally, and has been organising Carnatic music concerts for more than 35 years. The concerts are always held in the Keyes High School campus in the open-air theater. The singers are generally from outside Hyderabad, usually amateurs and upcoming artistes, and quite competent. Kalasagaram also occasionally stages South-Indian classical dances and Tamil plays.

The entry to this cultural festival is by daily donor passes of Rs. 100, Rs. 50 & Rs. 25 per head. Season passes are also available for Rs. 400, Rs. 300 & Rs. 200 per head. Please contact Rajagopalan of Kalasagaram at 2773-1775 for further details.

One of the finest performances ever seen in these times. I am a dancer myself and feel that Geetha is the one dancer of the generation of her kind. I wish that I get to see any and every performance of her's and her troupe

A fantastic performance. I had not known about this site earlier.Else i would have written me remark on day one.This young dancer is a great performer, choreographer and teacher.I have never seen a solo performance of this perfection anywhere in the recent past. Kudos to her. also, the rukmini kalyanam presented by her was so aesthetically and technically appealing that one could not move from there until the mangalam. I hope Geetha garu gives us plenty of solo and group performances in the coming years. Good luck and best wishes to her.

I just happened to go there. what a coincidence! I got to see a fantastic performance by Ms. Geetha. Th solo was so good that I stayed back to watch the dance drama. It was a feast to the eyes. Kudos to Geetha and her disciples. Jaya's music added to the grandeur. Would like to watch it again
