Art cannot be learned. And I speak with the experience of a respectable amount of dustbins overflowing with papers torn into bits in a frenzy of exasperation. Thus I can be counted as an authority on this subject and just to repeat, art cannot be learnt. What can happen is that you and me can go get a hi-fi degree in art and become an art critic at the most. That is respectable too, but being an artist, ah! It falls in another bracket by itself.
Here is a chance to experience what an artist does. On the other hand, it also gives you ample opportunity to think of yourself as an art critic; after all you are going to be amongst quite a few as it is a free country.
Daira Art gallery plays host to the paintings of Lavanya Dutt, an accomplished professional artist and her works.
Lavanya Dutt who used to do portraits before, has now shifted focus to subjects of nature. Here is a chance for all the art loving souls of the City to get a first hand experience of miniature paintings by the artist.
Paintings of nature, birds and flowers would be called calm at the least. Coming off as an instinctive more than a figurative painter, Lavanya Dutt's paintings have an embossed texture, giving them the printed look. But what lies beneath is the original work, which is not even close to printed work.
The miniature format works are all for sale, and if you just come across such a painting depicting your favorite subject or the scenery that you were meant to go to, make sure you grab it. The paintings are going to be priced in the affordable bracket that means you wont be the smug owner of a painting whilst having no house as well as having been ostracized by the family.
The inauguration of the exhibition is on January 15th at 1830 by Mr Jagdish Mittal.
