When one starts off with the concept of Yin-Yang, it should be understood that the Chinese have an effect and counter-effect for everything. Thus the invention of Chinese food and chopsticks. Manna and sticks to eat that manna. The list of injustices in the world is non-ending.
And since the Chinese are having their New Year, it is time for us to rejoice!
Mainland China is having a special menu as part of their celebrations of the New Year. Before reading the following, hold on to your stomachs because when you reach the end, the rumbling is going to get deafening. The dishes are going to be in duck, lamb, Bhatki fish and chicken.
Some of the dishes in chicken are: Goolloo Chicken, Jiang Jin Chicken with chili and soya, Pang Pong Chicken in spicy sesame sauce. There is fried rice of your choice - the choice being seafood, spicy crab, chicken etc.
A couple of the special delicacies, which are sure to ignite your curiosity, are: Squid and pineapple fried rice in pineapple shells. The former is a rare dish, and is being served only as part of the celebrations. The latter is a borrowed concept from the Hawaiians and is surely going to make for interesting eating. It is available for both, the supporters of PETA as well as subscribers to the laws of nature.
Coming to a more pertinent matter, which might be referred to as a reality check - the price. It is a well-known fact that Mainland China does not have a mass based clientele. It might become even more exclusive for this festival. The prices are going to be a a little more than its usual pricing. So, get ready to drop by as soon as you get paid or take the appropriate cashier along.
So, here is to all the Chinese "Chu Shen Tan". And here is to the not so far day when kids after cheating will say, "Swear by my bowl of chicken corn soup, I didn't do it."
