ITF Junior Tennis Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR ITF JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT

The International Tennis Federation (ITF), together with the All-India Tennis Association (AITA) and the Andhra Pradesh Lawn Tennis Association (APLTA), is organising the ITF Juniors Under-18 Boys' & Girls' Tennis Tournament, from 19th to 22nd September.

The main draw consists of 48 players - 36 direct entries based on ITF rankings, 6 wild cards, and 6 players through qualification matches. Matches will be held in the knockout format, in both boys' and girls' singles and doubles.

B Vikram Reddy and V Archana, both from India and Andhra Pradesh, are the top seeds in the boys' and girls' sections respectively. There are overseas players, one in the boys' section from Kenya and one in the girls' from Australia. Several players from USA, Korea, Sweden, Australia, Taipei, Pakistan, Spain and Oman have withdrawn citing security concerns.

All the matches will be played on the synthetic surfaces of the SAAP Tennis Complex at the L B Stadium compound. The games will be in the best of three tie-break sets format, with no advantage system.
