Seven sisters of North-East India have set-up a temporary camp in the Hitech city. Can you name all of them?
The Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is organising an exhibition of handicrafts and handlooms from the North-Eastern states, from 8th September, at the Visweswaraya Bhavan, Khairatabad.
The exhibition houses stalls of some eye-catching products from the 7 NE states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. Products made from bamboo and cane are the center of attraction here.
You can find door curtains made of bamboo, which can be washed and reused again. There are ducks and a tractor made of bamboo, handlooms with bright colours and designs, garlands and hangings made from jute, and also show pieces made from dried flowers. Collections of sofas, tables, center-tables and baskets made from cane are also worth a buy.
