Naqsh - Group Portfolio Of Etchings

After an art residency titled Walk of Art, Daira is now presenting a portfolio exhibition of etchings called Naqsh, to promote this medium of limited edition prints. An etching press was installed in the gallery premises, and like-minded artists got together to etch Naqsh (impressions).

Naqsh comprises works of a few Hyderabad-based artists who, apart from being deeply involved in the tradition of printmaking, have resolved to take this medium to greater heights. D Ananthaiah, Nandini Goud, Sajid Bin Amar, Akshay Anand Singh, Fauqia Tahseen, Gouri Vemula and Shabari Smitha Guha executed the work with dexterity and professionalism.

As an art form, printmaking takes the viewer on a journey of artistic expressions through a technical route. All this is done by a process that demands as much creativity as it needs accuracy and precision.
