The Hyderabad Music Circle is organising a Carnatic vocal recital by Sandhyasree, on 14th July, at Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika, the minihall of Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha in Chikkadpally. Vidhyasagar on the mridangam and N C Ananthakrishna on the violin will accompany Sandhyasree to provide instrumental support for the recital. Sandhyasree will be singing some Carnatic keertanas of Muthuswamy Dikshitar, Thyagaraja, Ramadas and Syama Sastry.
Sandhyasree learnt music initially from Malati Padmanabha Rao, and is currently under Akella Mallikarjuna Sarma. An upcoming singer, she has given many concerts in the city at various venues and temples.
The Hyderabad Music Circle is an active music-promoting cultural organisation, started in December 2005 and headed by some highly-talented musicians like the Hyderabad Brothers D Raghava Chary & D Seshachary (no less!), N Ch Parthasarathy and Y Ramaprabha. The organisation encourages upcoming artistes to participate in its monthly concerts (organised every 2nd Saturday), thereby creating a platform from where they can showcase their talents to the music lovers.
