The Brilliant Trophy State Open Chess Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR THE BRILLIANT TROPHY STATE...

It's simpler to get good money if you have an aptitude for chess than to get an aptitude for chess if you have good money. Or whatever. Here's the latest prize money tournament in town.

The Andhra Pradesh Chess Association is organising the Brilliant Trophy A P State Open Prize Money Chess Tournament, between the 14th and 15th of July, at the Brilliant Grammar High School at Dilsukhnagar. The matches will be held in the Under-6, Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14 and Open Age categories, in both the boys and the girls sections. The registration fee is Rs. 150, and spot entries will also be accepted.

The tournament will be conducted in the Sicilian format on a league basis. Every player has to play all the other players in his category, and on the basis of these performances, winners will be announced on the final points scored.

Prizes worth Rs. 20,000 will be given away to 20 players. 20 prizes will be given to the top ten players in the open category, and 20 prizes will be given to the top two performers in the Under-6, Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14 boys and girls, and Veterans categories.
