Malgudi, the speciality South-Indian restaurant at Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, at Lifestyle Building, Begumpet, and KPHB 6th Phase, Kukatpally, is organising a Telangana Food Festival, from 6th to 15th July.
The 10-day festival will have a wide range of Telangana recipes and items, such as Seekh Kebabs, Saboodana Vada and Punukulu for the starters; and Murgh Biryani, Pudina Kothimiri Pulav, Corra Khichdi, Mamidikaya Royyalu, Mamidikaya Pappu, Ulava Charu, Gongura Mamsam, Natukodi Koora, Korrameenu Pulusu, Cheema Kodi Fry, Mamulu Chicken Roast, Pottelu Mamsam Koora, Kodi Iguru, Gongura Chicken/Mamsam, Kundelu Mamsam Koora, Mutton Seekh Kebabs, Tawa Ghosht, Liver Fry, Mutton Fry and Pacchi Pulusu for the main course. There is also the Jonna Rotti to relish.
As far as desserts are concerned, there is Sheer Korma, Kaddu Ka Kheer, Purabaisa, Pootarekulu, Coconut Payasam, Double-Ka-Meetha, Qurbani-Ka-Meeta and Kajalu.
The Telangana food is known for the tanginess and the hot flavor of the curries. Red hot chillies are abundantly used to spice up the food. In addition gongoora (sorrel leaves) and raw mango are widely added. Home-made spice powders are used.
