Carnatic Vocal By Chandrabhanu: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR CARNATIC VOCAL BY CHANDRABHANU

Shilparamam is organizing a Carnatic vocal program by Chandrabhanu on 22nd June. Chandrabhanu will start the proceedings with a Varnam in Vasantha ragam, and then move on to a Sri Maha Ganapathim in Attana ragam. The main performance of the evening will be Oka Pariki Oka Pari in Karaharapriya ragam, an Annamacharya keertana. She will also perform a Rama Bhadra Ra Ra which is a Ramadas keertana, and a few light songs including Bhavayami Gopala Balam. She will be accompanied by O Rajashekar on the violin and A Srinivas on the mridangam.

Chandrabhanu has been learning music since childhood, and has been giving concerts for more than 10 years now. Her first lessons in music were at Thirunalveli in Tamil Nadu, after which she learnt under the tutelage of Neti Srirama Sarma in Hyderabad. She also learnt under D Seshachari, one of the famed Hyderabad Brothers. She is a lecturer in the Andhra Mahila Sabha College and a 'B' graded artist of the AIR. She has given performances in most of the reputed sabhas in A P and other states.
