Melange, the international cuisine restaurant of The Golkonda Hyderabad, is organizing a Thai Food Festival from 20th to 29th June, a buffet from 7pm to 11pm each day. The buffet costs Rs. 452 inclusive of taxes, and includes a free coke or energy drink.
The menu has a wide variety of dishes - 6 varieties of soup including Tom Kha Gai (spicy hot chicken soup) and Tom Jeud Phak Ruam (mix vegetable soup); 6 different starters including Satay Gai (marinated chicken on skewers) & Hed Tod (fried mushroom served with chilli sauce); and plenty of vegetarian main course dishes including Preaw Wan Phak Tao Hoo (stir fried mix vegetables) and Pad Tuor Ngok (stirred fired beansprout + spring onion with garlic). It also has its share of non-vegetarian dishes including Gang Kiew Wan Gai (chicken in thai green curry with bamboo shoots & eggplants) & Gang Ped Moo (pork in thai red curry & coconut milk).
There are also rice dishes including Khao Pad Ta Le (stirred fried rice with squid and shrimp) & Pad Pak (fried rice with tofu veg, peas, pineapple & egg). Finally, there are lots of desserts such as Khoay Boad She (bananas in syrup + coconut milk), Khao Niew Peak Lin Ji (boiled sticky rice with lichee + coconut milk) & Tan Loy Keaw (plumfruit in cold syrup).
The chef Chayudom Ritthihong has flown in from Thailand, and it's his first visit to the city. The 36-year-old chef who hails from Thailand has 9 years of experinece. He first learnt the art of cooking from his grandparents, after which he did a 2-year course on Thai cuisine. He has previously worked in Dubai and Kuwait, and will, for the first time, delight the Hyderabadis with his exotic dishes.
