"What is Art? Art is the response of man's creative soul to the call of the real."
Call Of The Real is a collection of paintings by eleven contemporary artists from Bengal. The book contains 145 colour illustrations and takes you through the creative processes of each of the painters.
The artists include Paritosh Sen, Jogen Chowdhury, Shyamal Dutta Roy, Sunil Das, Sakti Burman, Bikash Bhattacharjee, Ramananada Bandopadhyay, Shuvaprakash, Suhas Roy, Paresh Maity and Lalu Prasad Shaw. The book has been compiled by Gallery Sanskriti, and is being launched in the city alongside an exhibition of the artists' recent work.
