REVIEW FOR KUCHIPUDI DANCE RECITAL BY JAYANTI NARAYANA
Shilaparamam, as part of its weekly programs of music and dance, is organising a Kuchipudi dance recital by Jayanti Narayana, on the 13th of April. Jayanti will be accompanied by Sastry with the nattuvangam and vocals, Subramanyam on the mridangam, and Shiva on the violin.
Jayanti will start the recital with Vinayaka Kowtvam in Naata ragam, followed by Sarasiruhasana on Goddess Saraswati, Ananda Tandavam, and Tillana in Kuntala Varali ragam.
Jayanti Narayana, initially a disciple of Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, thereon learnt under Dr. Jonnalagadda Anuradha. She has a masters in dance from the Hyderabad Central University. She has given performances in almost all parts of India, and has choreographed a ballet named Chandrika Parinayam for Doordarshan. She has given more than 500 performances till date.
Jayanti teaches dance at her institute Pranava Fine Arts Of Kuchipudi in Bowenpally, which she started in 2000, and has about 50 students learning Kuchipudi.
