If you thought that storytelling was an art put to maximum use in adulthood, here's your vindication. They're now training them right at childhood for it!
The State Children's Film Society (SCFS), in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television and Theater Development Corporation Limited (APSFTTDCL), is organizing a 3-day workshop on "filmmaking" for children.
Around 20 selected students from 10 schools in the city will take part in the workshop, which aims to educate them in filmmaking and train them to share their ideas with each other and build up sequences of visuals to weave a story.
At this workshop children will get together in a group and share their story ideas on the first day. They will learn about "shooting" on the second day, and about editing from Raghu, a senior film editor, on the last day.
A circular had been sent to about 100 schools prior to this workshop, but only a handful of schools responded positively. The children who will take part in the workshop were selected on the basis of their writing painting and drawing skills, and imagination.
