If you thought that the Nizam's jewels only showed people how poor they were, then here's another use. They spawn likenesses with similar impact.
Ashim Sablok, a Delhi based jewelry designer, has, inspired by the exhibition of the Nizam's jewels at Delhi, come up with a collection of 30 designs - an intricate mix of precious and semi-precious stones embedded in the design techniques of Kundan and Meenakari. His collection will showcase the legendary work of the Nizam era, and will be on display for three days.
Ashim has been in this field for almost a decade now, and made news for the first time with his concept of electronic jewelry that glows when worn. He loves the fusion of the old and the new, the modern with the traditional, the Eastern with the Western, and the manifestation of his thoughts can be seen here.
Please contact Ashim at 339-2323 for further details.
