Black Dog is organising The Jazz Incident with Asia's numero uno jazz band The Curtis King Band, on 22nd February, at the Hotel Ista, Gachibowli. The Curtis King Band is a funky, bluesy, good-time, traveling rock 'n' roll band with an East-meets-West sound, and has been keeping the party going in Asia since 1996.
The 11-piece band features blues man Curtis King on the vocals, guitar and harmonica, Clinton "Fireman" Carnegie on the guitar, and "Mighty Mighty Horn Section", Singapore's only 5-piece horn section, apart from others. The band has been enjoying tremendous responses from local and international audiences. They have performed in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
Curtis and his cast of world-class musicians and entertainers have been featured on MTV, BBC, China Central Television, XoneFM Radio (Vietnam) and HTV (Vietnam), have performed at Live Earth 2007 and the Jakarta International Jazz Festival, and have played with international greats Deep Purple, local Vietnamese talents Tran Manh Tuan and Hong Nhung, Singapore's guitarist extraordinaire John Chee, Matthew "Cadillac" Cooper, and many other top performers from around the world.
The band has recorded 2 studio albums and 2 live albums (one of which hit the No. 1 spot at Tower Records and HMV Singapore), and has recently experimented with an East-meets-West blues style using traditional Asian instruments.
The entry is by invitation only. Please contact DJ Zam at 98850-33122 for invitations and further details.
