Mohd Rafi Award Night

Mohd. Rafi is considered the best playback singer of all times. His dreamy voice extended the dreaminess into the versatility as singer - romantic, upbeat, classical or sorrowful - any song would be brought to life when Rafi leant his voice to it.

To pay a homage to this maestro, Universal Cultural Organisation in collaboration with Idea Cellular is organizing a Mohd. Rafi Award Night. The night will honor singer SP Balasubramaniam with the Mohd. Rafi Lifetime Achievement Award - the only person who could emulate what the great Rafi had done. And, a musical journe into time.

This glitzy night will also belt out popular Rafi numbers. The troupe performing these have been brought in specially from Mumbai for the event. Special guests for the evening include Dr. C Narayan Reddy, P V Rajesh Rao, additional Commissioner Abdul Khayyam Khan and music director Ravi. The proceeds of this event will be donated to a charity that promotes self employment schemes for the aged.
