REVIEW FOR IDENTITY AT SHRISHTI ART

Anjolie Ela Menon, Achuthan Kudallur, KM Adimoolam and Jogen Choudhary will share wall-space with the best that Hyderabad's art scene has to offer - Laxma Goud, Vaikuntam and Surya Prakash. The art-lover's cup brimmeth over as Shrishti brings together a most diverse cross-section of Indian art.

But then how else would an art gallery celebrate its birthday? Shrishti has been committed to giving the city and insight into contemporary art as it happens not just in India, but frequently even on the international scene. Its Indo-Danish show, for example, was a great succes not just for the Hyderabadi artists who showed their works, but also for the Danish painters whose works found warm appreciation in the city.

What is unique about Identity, Shrishti's latest exhibition, is that it doesn't conform to type. Artists were not picked because of the themes or sensibilities they worked with, but for the beauty of these works. Quite a treat even if you don't understand too much of art.
