Shilparamam is organising a kuchipudi dance by K Nirmala Visveswara Rao and her disciples, as part of their weekly program of classical dance.
K Nirmala Visveswara Rao would be performing the Pushpanjali, Geetam, Mushikavahana, Daavatara ballet and some more kuchipudi dance items alongwith with her disciples, namely Geeta, Sandhya, Soumya, Neelima and Deepti.
Nirmala runs a dance school, Nirmala Nrithya Niketan at Nizampet Road in Kukatpally, established by her in 1996, where she teaches Kuchipudi to about 75 students. She initially trained under Chinta Rama Murthy at her hometown of Narsapur. She is now under the guidance of Pasumarti Ramalinga Sastry. She has done her MA in Dance from Hyderabad Central University and M Phil in Dance from Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. She has given various performances in all major cities of India and also in many European countries Malaysia, Singapore and Srilanka. She was honoured by the Malaysian Telugu Association and Singapore Telugu Association. She was awarded with the titles of Nrithya Koumudi by Manoranjini Arts, Natya Shiromani by Aradhana, Abhinaya Nritha Bharati by Malaysia Telugu Association.
