For those of you who have decided that cinema without an ollywood attached to some letter is not worth a watch - the Hyderabad Film Club has news. It comes as the Israeli Cinema Week. The Hyderabad Film Club, in collaboration with the Embassy Of Israel, New Delhi, will screen Israeli films back to back. Some of the films that feature here are:
Desperado Square, 21st March, 2004
This is the English translation of the social drama, Kikar Ha-chalomot. Directed by Torati Beni, it stars Shiloh Josef in the lead. This is the story of the Mendevon brothers who are trying to reopen an old neighborhood cinema and screen the famous Indian film 'Sangam'. Desperado Sqaure is about people who have missed their great love and are trying to recreate their future. It is a film about the love of cinema set in a colorful neighborhood.
Giraffes, 22nd March, 2004
This thriller has been directed by Grad Tzahi and has Tinkerbell, Glik Liat Dohan Meital and Selekter Micha in its cast. This is the story of three singles in their twenties who get involved in a mysterious and violent incident which opens up a can of worms. The Israeli version of this is titled Girafot.
Time Of Favour, 23rd March 2004 Hahesder is the name of this romantic movie directed by Joseph Cedar with Aki Avni, Tinkerbel, Assi Dayan and Idan Alterman as the lead stars. A love triangle is the crux of this film which is about an orthodox army officer, his mentor and the mentor's daughter.
